What we collect
If you use our free tools (heating checker, budget planner, etc.), all calculations happen in your browser — we don't see or store your answers. If you sign up for email updates, we collect only your email address, with your explicit consent via the checkbox on our signup forms.
How we use it
Your email is used solely to send occasional updates about new tools, relevant Scottish scheme deadlines, or (on the heating page) heating oil price alerts. We do not sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
Who processes it
We store signup emails directly in our own Google Sheet — we don't currently use a third-party email marketing platform. Google acts as our data processor for storage purposes. If we move to a dedicated email platform in future, we'll update this policy.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand which tools are used, which does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.
Your rights
- You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in every email we send.
- You can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- You can request that we delete your data entirely.
